Lunenburg Industrial Foundry and Engineering is currently seeking a Manufacturing Shop Machinist. Located in historic Lunenburg, Nova Scotia we are a well established company that has been in business since 1891. Our mission is to continuously improve and provide our products and services in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner. We aim to achieve these goals through craftsmanship, professionalism, and upholding our reputation and integrity. The manufacturing division specializes in, but is not limited to, marine underwater equipment and drive systems. Examples of our products include propellers, drive shafts, couplings, and bearings.

Job Outline

The successful candidate for this full time position will have machinist certification, exceptional communication skills, have experience with computer systems, work within the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, and be comfortable in a production oriented environment. The machinist's responsibilities will include working to exact tolerances, attention to detail, following work orders, and reading technical drawings. The candidate must be a self starter and have a positive work ethic. They will also maintain a professional businesslike approach at all times.


Machinist Certification (Red Seal an asset). Technical experience of 2+ years in the manufacturing industry. Have experience working and communicating with customers. Courteous manners with public and co-workers. Proficient spoken and written English. Strong communication skills. Electronic and computer hardware/software experience. Asset: Marine industry experience.


Compensation will be based on experience.
